Amidst all the terrible news we see on a weekly basis, this video of two toddlers in New York running to embrace each other is here to brighten your day. Last week, the best friends Maxwell and Finnegan were recorded as they ran to greet each other in what can only be described as the most wholesome hug on the internet.

A Dynamic Duo
According to Maxwell’s father, Michael Cisneros, the two 2 year olds have only been friends for about a year, but their bond is undeniable. The boys are practically inseparable! “When they are away from each other, they are always asking about one another.”
When they are together, the boys often go to music classes and play tennis with Finnegan’s parents. Seeing the pair play doubles on the court must be quite a show!
A Hug That Spreads The Love
After one of the dads posted the heartwarming hug on Facebook, local news picked up on the story and shared the video, as did many celebrities and influencers. The result was an embrace of pure happiness that quickly turned viral. With so many sources reposting the video it’s hard to keep a true tally. However, the hug has been liked and shared by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.
A Vision Of Hope For Race Relations
The outpouring of positive reactions towards the hug also is reflective of the current state of politics and racial tensions in the United States (and around the world). Seeing Maxwell, who is white and Finnegan, who is black, running to show their love makes a statement about racism. The video gives a sense of hope for a future filled with love and understanding.
Cisneros doesn’t normally like to share information or videos of his private life. Nevertheless, after capturing this moment on camera, he believed it was a must-share.
“With all the racism and hate going on I just think it’s a really beautiful video.”
