Whether you are a die hard “The Bachelor” fan, or simply tune in every once in awhile for the latest drama happening among the contestants, this latest clip from “The Bachelor Australia” will make you feel IMMEDIATE second-hand embarrassment.
The (In)famous Bachelor Introductions
Regardless of what country’s version you watch, there is always the (in)famous introductions episode. During this premiere, we get to meet the main Bachelor as well as all the numerous singletons vying for a shot at *true love.* How someone manages to fall in love in 2 months time complete with constant cameras around them is beyond me.
Lasting First Impressions
As with any first encounter with a stranger, there are always some people that leave long, lasting impressions… This was the case with contestant Abby, but for all the wrong reasons. Her less than stellar response to learning Bachelor Matt Agnew’s profession has been the source of many tweets.

We can’t blame Matt for being at a loss for words with that one! There is a very big difference between astronomy and astrology, but clearly that fact was way over Abby’s head.
Her not so lucky stars…
It got us thinking though, how important is this first impression anyway in winning over someone’s affection? According to Refinery29, 59% of men and 49% of women believe in love at first sight. This is combined with the incredible fact that we typically make full assessments of a person we first meet in under a second’s time. This includes personality, attractiveness, likability, and more. Matt might have checked all the boxes on Abby’s list, but from his response, we don’t think she made quite as great of an impression.
Needless to say, we don’t think Abby will be getting that coveted rose in the end. Plus, an Aries and a Leo? There was no way this relationship was written in the stars!
