Animal attacks are quite common in several areas in the world. However, this year, more fatal attacks have been reported recently. While most of them featured shark attacks (which are very common in Australia and the US), some strange accidents also took place featuring other predators. Here is a look back to what has been reported the past weeks, concerning animal attacks that, some people, can call themselves really lucky for having survived.
Australian Surfer Dies Following A Shark Attack

Possibly the biggest headline regarding animal attacks we’ve seen these days! The heartbreaking tragedy of a 6o year old man, who was bitten to death by a great white shark in the coast of Australia. The three-meter predator surprised the surfer from QLD, and bit half of his leg away, before being rescued. Unfortunately, the man died soon after at the scene. Later that day, authorities and Surf Life Saving NSW worked together on monitoring the area, closing all beaches between the towns of Kingscliff and Cabarita for 24 hours.
Man Saves His Friend From A Crocodile In Bhopal
A simple afternoon-swim at the lake almost turned catastrophic for these two men. As two friends turned to the lake of Bhopal to spend a refreshing afternoon (Illegally, due to coronavirus safety measures.) However, the men who’s worst nightmare was police spotting them, ended up being in way more dangerous than they thought. As the video shows, a giant crocodile took one of the men by surprise, and pulled him down under water. Thanks to his friend’s efforts, he was able to stay alive that day, and only left with a deep scar to remind him of that-near-death-adventure.
Woman Nearly Dies From A Bear Attack In L.A
L.A police department announced that woman was brutally attacked by a bear while at her backyard. Officials said that while the young woman fell asleep at her backyard in Sierra Madre, she woke up by a bear pulling her. It bit, scratched the woman, who was able to save her own life hitting the bear with her laptop. Oddly enough, this is not the first bear attack touching the residents of Sierra Madre. Last year, a man was also wounded by a bear, within his property.
Great White Shark Kills Young Boy in California
Speaking of California, a 26-year-old boy also passed away while surfing off the Santa Cruz coast on Saturday. According to witnesses, he was attacked by a great white shark. The attack happened just about 100 yards from the shore, and the reported cause of death was bleeding to death due to a ripped leg.
On A Good Note, Here Are A Few Dolphins Happily Swimming Around
Finally, not all animal-news have to be bad. In fact, the silver-lining of the Coronavirus crisis, has been that wildlife is slowly returning to its natural habitat. Yes, sharks appearing on shore are extremely dangerous, but are also surreal to watch from a far. Here is a sweet video of around 20 dolphins that were spotted in Thailand. This sighting was expressed as ”the latest evidence of healthier environment after lengthy absence of tourists.
