If you have been on the internet these past few days, then you definitely know about the #Chairchallenge. The whole world is going crazy over it! Although it seems like a simple, super easy thing to do, men are unable to do it.

The chair Challenge has gone viral, because everyone is trying to figure out the answer to why are men unable to do it?

The Chair Challenge Summed Up

Although the chair challenge existed for a long time, the social media site TikTok was the first to show it. It basically asks you to stand facing the wall, then take three footsteps back and grab a chair. After that, try to bend over with the chair then lift it to your chest. Make sure to be keeping your head against the wall the whole time. At the end, stand up straight with the chair in your hands and against your chest.

Men vs. Women

At first, men being unable to do it, thought that it was a joke. However, after multiple tries worldwide, we came to the conclusion that almost no man is able to do the chair challenge. On the other hand, in the videos uploaded all over the internet, women seemed to have no problem with it. In fact, they even can do it quite smoothly and effortlessly.

The Science Behind It

Luckily, there is an actual explanation to this challenge pitting men against women. US scientist Jeremy Johnson explains that women have a natural advantage. In a post on Educational Innovations, he claimed that it all has to do with the center of mass for men vs. women.

Furthermore, Professor Brian Ford at Cambridge University agreed that women do have a lower center of gravity than men. However, he argued that the reason men are unable to do the chair challenge, is mainly because their feet are longer and therefore, they can’t be as close to the wall like women can.

The United States of America is known as ” the land of the free.” People more or less, have the freedom to do what they want, even if it’s allowing you to ”win a baby” on a radio show contest.

This couple won the ”Win a baby” contest of a Radio Station in Florida, and became new parents of a baby boy thanks to the show.

The Contest Was Hosted By Florida’s B103.9 In November 2017

”Win a baby” contest is organized by B103.9 radio station in Florida. In November 2017, they offered one woman the chance of wining a free round of in-vitro fertilization (IVF), with all medications’ expenses included.

So the show asked women to send a video explaining why they want to be mothers. They have posted the winning couple’s submission, as well as photos of the new born on their website.

The Show Helped The Couple Start Their Own Family

Krista and Anthony Rivera of Cape Coral, won the contest in 2017. They publicly thanked the contest for giving them the opportunity to become parents for the first time. The Riveras have been fighting infertility, a common issue for a lot of couples.

In fact, according to the American Medical Association, infertility is now considered a disease. Moreover, an IVF nowadays costs roughly $20,000 a cycle. For many couples, they’ll have to take loans in order to afford it.

“Win a Baby” Was Held Again In 2019

Garrett Campbell Rivera, the couple’s first baby was born in August 2019, just a couple of years after the fertilization process began. Both new parents made sure to thank the contest and the radio station for making their dream come true.

Thanks to the successful experience of Krista and Anthony Rivera, the show hit again with a contest earlier this year. The winners this time are called Vy and Chris Nguyen, who are going through infertility as well, and are also hoping to be able to start their family soon.

She literally asked random guys to kiss her in front of the world’s biggest monuments, just to get that romantic photo.

This is the story of Kristina Kuqi. She had planned a trip around Europe with her boyfriend, only to break up with her few days before the travel date. It was then when she decided to embark upon a solo journey in the most creative way.

Kissing Strangers From Paris To Rome

The idea initially came after her boyfriend left her before their trip to Paris together. she was heartbroken, yet still insisted on traveling alone. when se finally got to visit the Eiffel Tower, she realized how much she wanted to get a romantic picture in front of the French site.

It was when she noticed an ”attractive” man taking pictures alone, she approached him asking for a picture. To his surprise, she kissed him to get the picture of her dreams.

She Documented Her Story On Social Media

Kristina enjoyed the experience, and her photos were well-taken by social media users. After posting the picture with the French guy, she posted another one on Twitter kissing another stranger at the coliseum in Rome. She captioned it ‘‘I hope this guy from Rome is doing good too”.

The spree continued, and the 23 years old grad student shared photos from previous encounters. In Kentucky, and while attending a wedding, she kissed a random fireman to bring one of her fantasies to life.

Kristina described her experience as amazing, and encouraged everyone to kiss random guys for pictures. So ladies, if you do not have a lover to travel the world with, no problem. You may just meet one in every country you go to if you ask for a picture and a kiss.

The TV show FRIENDS was aired in the late 90’s and continued until 2004. It’s considered one of the most successful shows in the history of modern television. The show told the story of 6 friends sharing the good and bad moments of life for about 8 years.

The Purge is Happening Now in Barcelona

It seems like the known movie”The Purge” is actually happening in the streets of Barcelona, and no, it’s not for halloween. The streets of the Spanish city seeking independence, have known a chaotic situation since Tuesday night.

Violent actions took place after the sentencing of ex- Catalan leaders, who were part of the pro-independence government that organized the referendum in 2017. The citizens took their anger to the streets of the city, and caused major flight delays, and blocked the main roads of the region.

The After-math of The 2017 Referundum

In 2017, Carles Puigdemont and his government organized a pro-independence referendum, in order to exist Spain. However, the Spanish government intervened, as it was ”unconstitutional” to organize such movement.

Catalans who went to vote were faced with clashes with the police, which some got quite violent. The referendum’s results were in favor of the separation, but were annuled by the Spanish government.

Spanish Supreme-court Jails the ex-leaders of the Movement

On Tuesday morning, Spanish supreme-court announced the jailing of 9 of the movement leaders. While the sentences varied between 7 years and 13 years, the pro-independence citizens refused to accept them.

Since the announcement, people took the streets to express their anger. Madrid on the other hand, sent extra riot police to Barcelona in order to prevent chaos.

Protestors Blocked the Entrance to The City

In addition to thousands of protestors in the city center, many took the initiative of blocking the roads and main entrances to Barcelona. At least 100 flights were canceled on Tuesday, as well as a huge interruption of the city’s railway and highways.

The airport was also filled with people waving their Catalunya flags, and clashing with the police. Visitors were told to remain inside the airport for few hours, until the situation calms down a bit.

According to the protestors and current leading government of Catalunya, the supreme-court’s decision will just strengthen the movement. Although the Spanish prime minister tried to promote dialogue between the region and the central government, it seems that the violence will continue until reaching an agreement.

The streets of Barcelona have been in flames since last night, and footage of the actions released on social media frightened the world. Some have actually compared what’s happening to the movie ”The Purge”, due to the similarity of events.

The video of TV-hostess Ellen hanging out with America’s ex president George Bush, made polemic headlines. The two were sitting together at the Dallas Cowboys football game, against the Green Bay Packers.

Footage showing Ellen hanging out with Mr. Bush made controversy everywhere in the US. Why? well, because of the fact that they share opposite political and social view points.

LGBT Community Criticized the Friendship

The main criticism came from supporters of the LGBT community. As Ellen is openly homosexual, and married to actress Portia De Rossi. On the other hand, George Bush is strictly conservative, and known for extreme opposition to the LGBT community.

The controversy did not only go global on social media, but Newspapers and Magazines also voiced their shock towards a friendship between extremely different people. OUT Magazine shared their disapproval with this message ” Ellen DeGeneres laughing it up with someone who has actively tried to harm our community feels disappointing, irresponsible, and dangerous.”

TV personality Ellen said that she did not expect this reaction from the world. She explained on her show ”The Ellen Show” that she did not know Bush was going to be seated next to her. Apparently, she was invited to the game by the Cowboys’ owner, Jerry Jones, and she didn’t know that George Bush would be sitting next to her.

However, Ellen did confess that she is friends with Bush. Nevertheless, she agreed that they don’t share much in common, in terms of political and social perspectives, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be friends. Ellen explained that her philosophy is to be kind to everyone, and not just the people you get along with.

Besides the criticism, some people also had a more positive outlook at the relationship between Ellen and George Bush. Someone even posted on Twitter, that the friendship between the opposite personalities ”gave them faith in America again.”
