Woman Dresses Up As A Bush For Her Sister’s Engagement

Often when a family member knows a sister or daughter is going to be getting proposed to, they naturally want to be a part of the process. Typically it’s a matter of being at the location or nearby restaurant afterwards… but for Therese Merkel, that was not enough. When she learned her sister’s boyfriend was going to propose, she wanted IN, even if it meant dressing up disguised as a bush.

Sisters Til Death Do They Part

Therese grew up in Wisconsin with her sister Rachel, and they are the closest of friends. When Rachel and her boyfriend, Andrew Philibeck began speaking about marriage, she had only one request for the proposal: that her sister be there.

Therese and Andrew began to plan in secret for the big day, wanting it to be a funny surprise. Of all the many crazy options that they came up with, the winner of the bunch was dressing up as a bush.

Blending In As A Bush

Andrew decided that the best way of achieving this was by buying Theresa a Ghillie suit. These suits are typically bought and worn by hunters so that they blend into their surroundings. The one he ordered for her came complete with a headpiece that fully covered her face to the point she was truly unrecognizable.

A month later, Andrew planned to propose in a conservatory that he decorated with plants and flowers. He led Rachel to the spot where Therese was hiding… yet even he couldn’t tell if she was actually there! The bush trick worked THAT well! Luckily for Therese, no wildlife mistook her for their home.

After he popped the question and Rachel said yes, Therese popped out as well screaming “SHE SAID YES!” Rachel was left both confused and in disbelief at her bush wearing sister.

A Bush Gone Viral

While there are an infinite amount of engagement stories, this one made headlines because Therese shared the announcement on Twitter. Her post went viral sharing how her life, dressed as the bush, and her sister’s with a shiny new rock, are so completely different. Which sister are you more like in this moment??

Tekashi 6ix9ine Becomes Internet’s Biggest Snitch

The famous rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested last year for racketeering, drug trafficking, and assisting in other crimes. Originally it was believed Tekashi would serve a life sentence in prison, but authorities have said they would reduce it to 15 years if he agreed to name members of The Bloods Gang. Some of his confessions have included big hip hop names like Jim Jones and Cardi B, which has shocked many. While his confession involves a serious matter, people on social media have found his “snitching” to be downright comical, creating a new meme from the trial photos.

Reference To Other Artists

One of the funniest contributions makes a reference to a popular reggae/r&b song from 2000 by Shaggy. In the song Shaggy repeatedly denies cheating on his girlfriend, claiming “it wasn’t me” (15 times to be exact). Seems Tekashi 6ix9ine had other ideas…

Tekashi Solves Biggest Rap Murder Cases

It also had others curious if 6ix9ine would confess about other unexplained disappearances and murders of fellow rappers, most famously Tupac. 

Confessions Part 3…

Usher’s career really skyrocketed with his release of the songs “Confessions” and “Confessions Part II,” in which he crooned the famous line “If I’m gonna tell it then I gotta tell it all,” which could be similar to Tekashi’s current decision.

Others poke fun at the timing of Tekashi’s confession lining up with Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to declare an official impeachment process against Trump. Could it have been Tekashi who was the whistleblower?

No Need For Witness Protection

With all of these confessions, Tekashi 6ix9ine is still looking to face 10-15 years in prison. Many are greatly worried for his safety after he is released, for the rapper has stated he does not want to be a part of the Witness Protection Program so that he can continue his rapping career. However, as some have pointed out, joining the Witness Protection Program might be a little difficult given the very recognizable tattoos he has on his face.

As the trial continues, only time will tell who else Tekashi includes in his confessional, and if he can still have a career after jail.

Friends Fight Fear Sleeping In Most Dangerous Bed In The World

When trying to attain those coveted 8 hours of sleep, most people’s ideal sleeping conditions are in a bed, maybe with some comforters and extra pillows thrown into the mix. But for Thomas Brag and Ammar Kandil, sleeping in a bed is boring. That’s why the creators of “Yes Theory” decided to fight their fear and do what most would consider a nightmare. They slept overnight in a hammock suspended between two cliffs, in what can only be considered “the most dangerous bed in the world.”

“Fear is a Mental Muscle”

The duo decided to create a video that followed their thrilling, borderline crazy decision to sleep in a hammock over a plunging valley below. “Overnight on the most dangerous bed in the world!!” was uploaded to their YouTube Channel Yes Theory this past week. Their channel focuses on taking different adventures that push them out of their comfort zone. In this video in particular, they began by speaking about fear and its power over us.

“Fear is a mental muscle that needs regular attention. If you don’t actively seek to safely challenge it, it will eventually take control of your life. So today we’re going to the mental gym.”

Company Joins In The Dangerous Adventure

To complete this adventure, Thomas and Ammar decided to invite their friend Max Rantz-McDonald as well as a highlining expert, Ryan Robinson. Highlining involves walking on a “1 inch thick rope between two mountains” with absolutely zero net to catch you underneath. Truly insane in our opinion!

Robinson joined them to help the three men properly hang the hammocks to best avoid injury. After this fine material was hung, the three friends settled in for the night. They were about as comfortable as one can expect to be while hanging at a height that some would consider a death wish. Not only did vertigo fears arise, but soon the three had to brace the natural elements of wind, thunder and rain.

Caving In To The Fear

Despite all intents, Thomas was unable to make it through the night, with his vertigo fears forcing him to return to ground after only a few hours. The other two however toughed it out all the way to morning. Their smiles and pride were undeniable as they carefully pulled their way back to land to reunite in a hug with their pal.

It was a true testament to pushing through the mental block. The video itself has been watched almost 1.5 million times since its upload, serving as an inspiration for all to fight their own fears.

No Aliens, But One Special Visitor At Area 51

One of the most anticipated Facebook Events of the year finally came this past weekend. “Storm Area 51” began as a joke online (“they can’t stop us all”), yet quickly became a global sensation. The event for September 20-22 had over 2 million people “attending” on the Facebook event online. In reality only a few thousand people attended “Alienstock” to get their chance at an alien sighting this past weekend, which sadly never occurred. Nevertheless, one attendee did make the weekend a memorable one by interrupting a news report with his Naruto run.

What is “Storm Area 51”?

“Storm Area 51” was created on Facebook back in June by Matty Roberts. The comedic concept was to have as many people “storm” the United States Air Force Training Facility, famous for alien sightings. This event got so much publicity, that they decided to create a music festival called “Alienstock“ in the small town of Rachel, Nevada. The logistics were not well planned however, and no one truly broke into the facility. People who did come for the event however enjoyed an out-of-this-world time! Some attendees even brought fake protest signs, dressed up in shiny and green gear, and bonded over their communal love for aliens.

How Do They Storm Area 51?

As stated previously, the event was both poorly planned and, when it comes down to it, one big fat joke. Roberts suggested that everyone enter the facility by running like “Naruto,” a famous Japanese anime character who runs with his head down and arms behind him.

While no one successfully entered, one guy dubbed “the plunger man” (whose real name is Gary Winthorpe), did manage to get the closest with some fellow attendees. They all charged toward the barricade in Naruto style, only to quickly get stopped by military.

Winthorpe told the local Fox5, “We came out here to raid Area 51 and find the truth about what they’re hiding. We don’t know if it’s aliens, we don’t know if it’s time travel, we don’t know if there’s minions in there.”

That wasn’t the last of the Naruto runs of the weekend. The most famous-and now viral- example came during a news report. During the middle of KTNV Channel 13 Las Vegas‘ coverage of the event, one attendee slyly swooped behind reporter Joe Bartel in Naruto-like fashion.

The image soon became a viral video on Twitter, with people claiming this lone runner to be the true hero of this extraterrestrial-less weekend.

Two High-Schoolers Go Viral For Helping Their Bullied Classmate

When Antwann Garrett and Kristopher Graham of Martin Luther King Jr. College Preparatory High School in Memphis decided to help out their classmate, Micheal Todd, who was constantly bullied for his clothes, they had no idea how much their contribution would make an impact. The video of the football players donating clothes to Todd has since gone viral and caught the attention of people globally.

Just Another Bullied Teen

14 year old freshman Micheal Todd had only been attending his new high school for three weeks, and already was being made fun of. The teen said his mom could not afford to buy him clothes because he was “growing too fast” and that he had been “bullied all [his] life.” He is one of the more than 25% of kids bullied each year in the US.

Classmates Decide To Donate Clothes

Fellow freshman classmate Kristopher Graham, was one of the students who had originally laughed at Todd in their mutual third period class. However, Graham felt it weighing on his conscious and decided he wanted to make a difference for Todd.

He called up his friend Antwann Garrett, and the two decided to collect a bag of their clothes and shoes to give to Todd. When they apologized and gifted the items to Todd, he was in pure shock.

“I was very happy, I was shocked completely... it was the best day of my entire life.”

Kind Deed Inspires Many

The interaction was all recorded by another friend, not because the footballers wanted to show off their good deed, but in order to inspire others to help combat bullying. Inspire they did, as people around the world shared the video and sent their own clothing to donate to Todd. The video even caught the attention of celebrities such as Ellen Degeneres, who invited the three boys to her show for a special surprise from Will Smith.

Will Smith told the boys how impressed he was by their kind deed, that he surprised all three with clothing from his new line and sneakers from New Balance. Shutterfly also donated a $10,000 check to each of the boys. Smith additionally donated clothes to their high school, which has many families that live below the poverty line.

The friends have shown how even a small kind gesture can really go a long way in changing another person’s life.

The Rough Reality Of The First Day Back To School

The end of summer means it’s back to school for the kiddos! While parents might be relieved that classes are back in session (mommy deserves a break!), some kids have shown that elementary school is a lot harder than it looks! Parents participated in a thread on Twitter to show their kids before and after pics from back to school and let’s just say, the change is shocking (and hilarious).

A Back To School Thread Is Born

On September 4th, Kennedy decided to share a picture she saw on Facebook that demonstrated the apparent rough life of Kindergarten. We might think it’s all just coloring, playing, and the occasional nap time, but this photo comparison shows otherwise. The difference is undeniable between the little girl in the before and after photos. The sleek hair and fresh look all ready for school compared to a frazzled, hair everywhere and “mom-take-me-home-already” face are too funny to not share. Kennedy’s original tweet then got MANY responses…

Pre-K Also Has Back To School Problems

Who would’ve thought that little four year olds could do so much damage? This pre-schooler’s bubbly face of excitement for her first day of school did not last long. A rumpled shirt, messy curls and chocolate stained face show this blondie barely survived. At least she’s not crying (yet)!
